I'M BACK

Well, it has been a busy, busy few weeks. Within Fairfax County, we are preparing for our Convention which is taking place on April 12 at the Falls Church High School. Preparing for that has been a lot of work, but it will all pay in the end!

Gerry Connolly and Leslie Byrne are still vying for the Democratic nomination for the 11th Congressional District. In a recent poll, it seems Connolly has a DOUBLE DIGIT lead over Byrne! Is this going to be a landslide? Any thoughts?

The 11th Congressional District Convention is on May 17th, and it looks like we will have about 550-650 total delegates.

In the 10th, the Jefferson Day Dinner is this Saturday in Warrenton. For information on this, go to www.va10gop.org.

In 8th, Mark Ellmore and Amit Singh are engaged in a tight primary.

Cuccinelli Is In

Today was a great day for Republican's when Ken Cuccinelli threw his name in ring to be the nominee of the Republican for Attorney General!

Basically, the Republicans have a unified ticket of McDonnell/Bolling/Cuccinelli in 2009. The Democrats has a nominating contest for Governor between Mr. Liberal (Brian Moran) & Creigh Deeds. They most likely will nominate Chap Peterson for Lt. Governor and a ? for Attorney General.

In any case, congratulations Ken Cuccinelli, you have Virginia Conservative's most emphatic support and endorsement!

Endorsement of the 11 Congressional District Chairman

Old Dominion Conservative would like to wish Becky Stoeckel, Chairman of the 11th Congressional District Republican Committee a very Happy Birthday (It was on Friday) and that she enjoy it!

We also would like to emphatically endorse her for Chairman of the 11th CD, Chairman's race. Becky is running unopposed but her long time support and work for this Party in Northern Virginia has only led to our winning and strength in this region.
We thank her for the time and energy she has put forward and hope she continues her work for a long time.

Thank you Becky.

Current Rumblings

I am sorry for my shotty posting the last week. I have recently taken a new job with the Republican Party and it was a crazy week but, we have some interesting news!

In Prince William County, over 500 people filed to be delegates. I am hearing rumors of those 500, 80% filed to be Bob Marshall supporters! This is great for Bob, who has been actively seeking the grassroots approach.

In Fairfax County, around 1000 people filed to be delegates to either the FCRC Convention, the 8th, 10th, or 11th Conventions or the State Convention in Richmond on May 31st.

Keith Fimian is actively fundraising and has amassed over $800,000. I have also heard he has just finished his petition signatures and will be filing to be the Republican nominee from the 11th Congressional District.

In the FCRC side of things, Jim Hyland has re-filed to be a contender for the Chairman's post, and is being challenged by Kamal Nawash. Kamal is an attorney and more information about his candidacy can be found by going to google and typing in "Kamal Nawash."

In PWC, Tom Kopko is NOT running again for Chairman's post, and the race is uncontested. More details about who will be their new Chairman.

Old Dominion Conservative would like to proudly endorse:

Mike Thompson Sr , Tom Davis & L. Scott Lingamfelter for Delegates to the National Convention from the 11th C.D.

Tim Hugo, Robert Herrington & Sue Jones for Alternate Delegates to the Republican National Convention.

Juanita Balenger for Presidential Elector.

We have decided to endorse for State Central:

David Ray
Rick Hendrix
Patsy Drain

Well, thats all for now! I will keep you posted.

Bosnia and Clinton

In case you have not heard Clinton's latest gaff and of course if you are watching any of the major networks less Fox News, you will not pick this up.

The other day in a speech given at a University in D.C. she explained her "vast" FP experience when she told a story of her landing in Bosnia under sniper fire and explosions. She told us that she was wisked directly from the plane to the motorcade to get out of harm's way.

In fact, according to a film released by CBS, when she landed she was greeted by children and had a "ceremony" on the tarmac of the airport. Her campaign has later explained that she over-dramatized the story and what she was telling was that in the surrounding areas there were some explosions! Come on, the American people are not that DUMB. So again, thank you HILLBILLY for lying to the American people.

"Fireball Bill" LG

Bill Bolling made an announcement that he will seek to retain his seat as Lt. Governor. A great move by him, he is pretty safe.

Republicans now have Bob McDonnell, the likely Republican Nominee, who I like very much and is a great candidate! However, I am weary of the attack ads after the NVTA debacle...interesting to see what develops!
